Prior to today’s WOD, I tried to get above 200 on the Bench press and failed miserably but got some great tips from a fellow athlete. Then worked on continuing to use those tips using 185lbs. They included how to arch my back, where my elbows should be positioned, and some pace of the bar things to consider. I’m going to try to incorporate some more benching into my week (at least twice a week with one day being the wendler cycle day.
Todays WOD involved a pretty intensive warm-up, then some pistol work, and finally a surprisingly intense partner workout.
Pistols
I was able to do a few pistols but I go up on the ball of my feet pretty badly. I did a set of 3 in a row and could prolly do more with my lifters on. Just another example of how I need to work on my mobility.
WOD
Score: 3 rounds + 30 Burpees, 30 C2B Pull-ups, and 25 hang cleans at 135 lbs
Mike and I really had to push and changed our strategy a few times during the workout. I was inconsistent with my pull-ups being able to string together 5 occasionally. Overall, it was a great workout and really enjoyed working with Mike, who pushed through some ripped hands.
